Here's some advance patch notes:

Hybrid Damage - Increasing the Fun

Many heroes have powers in their kit that benefit from different damage types. Some of those heroes have different damage types deeply ingrained in the lore and flavor of their powers, such as Emma Frost (physical diamond vs. mental telepathy), Ghost Rider (mental hellfire vs. physical chain attacks), Cable (energy weapons and mental powers) - that is something that can't be changed, but must be designed around intelligently and with great care and consideration. Other heroes have a few powers in their kit that were not using the “normal” damage type of the hero, such as Rocket Raccoon (1 physical power), Hawkeye (2 energy powers), Deadpool (1 energy power), etc.To make the lives of heroes in both categories more fun, we sat down and carefully review powers and items over the last week. The result involves some quality of life improvements in the items and powers front.

Hybrid Damage Quality of Life - Items

We are in the process of adding several dozen items (in various slots) that support hybrid damage types, including item affixes that are extremely strong for both.

For example, instead of an item rolling +Mental damage, it could roll +Mental and +Physical damage (both with full-power rolls) if you are using Emma Frost when you find the item.
We’ve also buffed several medallions and artifacts to help support hybrid-damage heroes and will continue to support them with additional item affixes, insignias, runeword recipes and other item types.

Hybrid Damage Quality of Life - Powers

From the powers standpoint, we’ve worked with several heroes who had a very small number of powers that were outliers from their main damage type and helped the heroes find alternate ways of dealing damage, as outlined below:

Deadpool

Stink Bomb has been changed to Nerve Gas and now deals Physical damage instead of Energy damage.

Hawkeye

Electric Arrow now deals Physical damage instead of Energy damage.
Tear Gas Arrow has been changed to Nerve Gas arrow and now deals Physical damage instead of Energy damage.

Punisher

Frank has changed out the napalm mixture in his flamethrower with a much higher density thickening agent, a decreased ratio of benzene and an increased ratio of white phosphorous. As a result, it’s now considered Physical damage as opposed to Energy damage.
Flashbang now deals Physical damage instead of Energy damage.
Chemical Mine now deals Physical damage instead of Energy damage.
Sticky Mine now deals Physical damage instead of Energy damage.

Rocket Raccoon

Rocket has installed a high-voltage electroshock device in the handle of his pistol, as a result, Pistol Whip has been changed to Energy damage instead of Physical damage.
Pistol Whip area of effectiveness has been increased slightly.

Storm
Goddess of Weather is now 100% Energy damage instead of Energy / Physical hybrid damage.
Sirocco Rush has been changed to Energy damage instead of Physical damage.
Sudden Tornado has been changed to Energy damage instead of Physical damage.
Gusting Tempest has been changed to Energy damage instead of Physical damage.
Crashing Hail has been changed to Energy damage instead of Physical damage.

Melee Powers Tagging
Over the last week, @MichaelMayhem* and @PsiLocke* have been pouring through every power in the game to make sure it's working properly, has proper tuning flags and proper damage tags.

As one small part of the process, they have tagged the following powers as Melee:

Nightcrawler - Flash and Grab
Nightcrawler - Dive Bomb. (Also changed name to Bamf Bomb to differentiate from Squirrel Girl's power)
Luke Cage - Cage Was Here
Daredevil - Ultimate (The Intitial 10 hits)
Thing - Jagged Defender
Ghost Rider - Judgement
Squirrel Girl's Counter Attack Passive was already tagged as Melee, but will now display it in power description.

Legendary Items

Several Legendary Items received buffs for this patch. We already did a pass on these a couple of weeks ago, but wanted to follow-up, just to be sure. Note that we did not choose to nerf Gungnir, but instead chose to spend the time carefully analyzing and buffing everything else. That's not always possible, some items just can't be saved because of their basic mechanics, but in this case it was a matter of intelligent buffs to many other items. We've also added a new Physical-based Legendary called The Savage Axe of Ares!

Savage Axe of Ares

800 physical damage
400 crit rating
800 brutal damage rating
400 brutal strike rating
8% chance to do an 80,000 damage bleed (8 second cooldown)

4ba929df1cb3a.jpg

Legendary Item Buffs:

Casket of Ancient Winter:

Upped the value on the rank 1, 3 and 4 affixes from 450 to 500 damage rating
Upped the chance to slow on the rank 2 affix from 8% to 10%
Upped the proc damage and chance on the rank 5 affix to 5% and 50,000 damage, and reduced the cooldown to 5 seconds

Cosmic Control Rod

Upped the Energy Damage on rank 1 to 600
Upped the Critical Rating with Energy powers on rank 3 to 600

Excalibur

Upped the Rank 5 Life on Hit from 100 to 200

Neptune’s Trident

Upped the Summoned Health and Damage (Rank 1 and 2 affixes) to 50% each
Upped the Damage and Critical Ratings on the rank 3 Affix to 500 for each
Upped the rank 4 proc to 5% chance to deal 50,000 damage and heal for 5,000 damage
Upped the rank 5 proc to 5% chance to deal 50,000 damage over 5 seconds

Golden Bow of Apollo

Upped the Rank 1 and rank 4 values from 500 to 600
Upped the rank 3 proc to 10% chance to deal 6,000 damage (retaining the 1s cooldown)
Upped the damage on the rank 5 proc to 200,000 damage over 6 seconds (20 second cooldown)

The Warlock’s Eye

Lowered the cooldown on the Rank 5 proc to 5 seconds to line up with other similar Legendary items

Total Buffs: 6 (+1 new Legendary item)
Total Nerfs: 0

Special Note: The Legendary item exchange program is still in effect until we are done balancing everything (it's only fair). I expect to trade my Deadpool into the new Axe, especially now that he's pure Physical damage.

Puis les artefacts

Artifacts

We buffed many artifacts to create more options for various builds, including melee, mixed-damage heroes, tanky builds, summoners and more. This should put several more artifacts into contention as attractive options for certain builds.

We also nerfed Pym’s, as many expected, but not too much, so it’s should still be must have for anyone who wants more spirit.

New Artifacts

The following new artifacts have been added to the game:

  • Advanced AIM Robot Dispenser
  • Advanced Wicked Wand of Watoomb
  • Advanced Amulet of Agamotto

The List

Advanced Atlantean Jewel

Pym’s Shrinking Serum

  • Pym’s was greatly overbuffed in a previous patch long ago and is now nerfed slightly with an additional 1.5s cooldown (bringing it to 2.5s).
  • It’s potentially the single-most game changing artifact in existence, but it’s a little closer to reality now. We intentionally we're careful in the cooldown for this since many players have traded for it and/or blessed it.
Raptor Stone

  • Upped the maximum amount of pet damage that can be rolled
  • We’re adding more itemization options for pet builds over the next few weeks
Xerogen Crystal

Sixième partie, les reliques :
Citation :
Relics

We did a full review of all Relics to determine which were not being used and which were not taking advantage of their item budget. One of the things we track extensively is metrics for every item that players are wearing when they play. This lets us focus on buffing items that are currently not used much, in hopes of making them more attractive as options. That's exactly what we did with 8 different relics. As usual, we spent our time trying to buff anything we could, rather than nerf the most popular Relics. None of the popular relics, including Lumeria, broke the game, so it was feasible to buff existing relics higher. We'll continue to monitor relics for buffs and have plans to make them even more enjoyable later in the year. The result was a buff of 8 of Relics to make them a little more attractive compared to the most popular relics.

Relic of Attilan has higher damage with area powers.

Relic of Kakaranathara has higher damage with basic powers.

Relic of Atlantis has higher critical damage.

Relic of Wakanda has higher damage with DOTs.

Relic of Skrullros has higher tenacity.

Relic of Chthon has higher “thorns” damage.

Relic of Asgard has higher damage with melee powers.

Relic of Xandar has higher damage with ranged powers.

Citation :
Unique Items

Unique Weapons

  • All Unique weapons (gear slot 1) can now roll up to 883 basic damage rating.
  • This change is a significant buff damage to almost every unique weapon.
  • As a head start / grandfathering for current players, all existing Unique weapons were given a "roll" under this new system and will result in most player's uniques receiving a buff to basic damage or defense.
  • All Unique armor can now roll higher basic defense. Existing unique items will benefit from this and receive the buff.
Very Old / Problem Uniques

We carefully went through each unique that was created over the last 8 months (since Uniques launched) and made sure to clean up any wording, tooltips, incorrect affix curves or bugs. This was a buff or better functionality for 99% of items.

However, a few very old uniques (the first 5 created in the system) were rolling twice on the basic damage curve and stacking the results. Most were corrected, most ended up with buffs, but there were a few nerfs.

  • Bone Claws was rolling basic damage stats twice. This has been partially fixed, but we retained a much higher roll than normal since the item was not gamebreaing. Other stats are now buffed and the health penalty was removed. Existing Bone Claws were left with the highest roll possible. Overall TTK for Wolverine should stay within 0.5 seconds.
  • Eidolon Warwear - Was created with a significantly bugged affix curve for passive health regen. This has been fixed and +1 Durability has been added to the item to make it more attractive.
  • Horizon Labs Web Shooters was rolling basic damage values several times. To compensate, other stats are now slightly buffed and a small amount of crit rating and crit damage was added. As an additional compensatory small buff, damage to webbed targets (which no longer exists) has been changed to bonus damage versus slowed targets. Existing Web Shooters were also left with the highest roll possible to minimize impact on current heroes.
  • Anti-Metal Ammunition was rolling basic damage values three times. To partly compensate, other stats are now slightly buffed and the weapon was allowed to go over item budget significantly. Also note: drop chance has been doubled. Existing Anti-Metal Ammunition were also left with the highest roll possible to minimize impact on current heroes.
  • Nate Grey’s Psionic Armor - This was a new unique that was accidentally rolling cost reduction twice. This is now fixed. All other affixes increased slightly on the armor, to keep it powerful.
One Unique item was nerfed strictly for balance purposes:

  • Hulkbuster Arrows proc cooldown is changed from 2 seconds to 4 seconds. This was the only unique that was five times over the item balance budget, so we made this careful tactical nerf to bring it slightly closer to the item budget. It’s still the most powerful single item in the game, even with the cooldown adjustment.
Overall, not much had to change, which is good considering each of these were hand made by a variety of designers before we had a real balance team in place.

Ongoing Reviews

  • As each hero receives their level 52 review their unique items are reviewed as part of the process.
  • Several new unique items have been added to the game, particular for gear slot 3 and for multi-damage type heroes. They must be found.
  • Several any hero and hero-specific uniques were buffed during a pass today by @Amthua. They will be in the final patch notes.
  • Black Widow now has additional unique items that may be found in game.

Les cores :

Costume Cores

  • Costume cores will now always have at least one additional affix in addition to the RIF/SIF/Credit Find affix. No more blank costume cores.
  • Existing cores will automatically be upgraded to at least one affix for the people who have them in their inventories.
  • Special Item Find on cores was buffed to 25% to match the Rare Item Find. This will assist slightly with finding Splinters, special event items, relics and so on. This is retroactive to existing cores.
  • Added “+10 Credit Find” as a possible prefix (so cores now will roll Credit Find, Special Item Find or Rare Item Find)
  • The drop rate of costume cores has been quadrupled in all zones.
Two costume cores were nerfed:

  • The 25% health regen + 25% spirit regen cores were nerfed to return 3000 Health (maximum) and 100 flat spirit. The original 25/25 cores were created almost a full year ago when there were much fewer item slots in the game and much, much lower health and spirit totals. In addition, enemy damage was actually higher when cores were created (before the defensive changes), so adjusting these cores to flat rates needed to happen so enemy damage did not have to be increased.
  • As expected, the Life Leech cores were changed to Life on Hit (maximum 400 / second). Owners of existing Life Leech cores were given a special +1 Durability bonus on their cores to assist their tankiness.
The Items team has added 8 new affixes that costume cores can now roll:

  • Defense vs. Area Attacks
  • Ranged Damage rating
  • Melee Damage rating
  • Energy Damage rating and Physical Damage rating combined
  • Energy Damage rating and Mental Damage rating combined
  • Physical Damage rating and Mental Damage rating combined
  • Health regeneration
  • Life on hit
Costume Core Vendor
In conjunction with our upcoming Top Ten Player's Vote Event Weekend (nice name, eh?), Beast will exchange Easter Eggs from costume cores for the next week, to give players a chance to stock up with all the new affixes.

The patch will be launching Friday morning, or possibly Monday if we want more testing time. Testing will begin Wednesday or late Tuesday night. We are waiting on 5 Invisible Woman powers to get final revisions complete.

New Hero - Invisible Woman

The Invisible Woman herself, Susan Storm Richards has arrived!
Bathed in Cosmic Rays, Sue gained the ability to bend light and create powerful forcefields.

She uses these powers to unleash many powerful and highly creative attacks, turn invisible at the speed of thought and protect her allies with forcefields.
Invisible Woman has a visually beautiful and enjoyable power set. We hope you enjoy!

Black Widow - Level 52 Review

Black Widow's level 52 review is complete and it turned out even better than we hoped. We posted preliminary notes in the BW forums and will be posting final notes here when the patch launches.

@TheArtofRawr* will be moving onto Wolverine's review next, once final testing and tuning of Black Widow is complete.

Squirrel Girl Update

Squirrel Girl has received in a design update with the goal of consolidating passive powers, buffing damage for some of her less-popular powers and increasing overall quality of life. @MichaelMayhem went nuts on this review, eating a diet of acorns and for the last two weeks.

http://themagpieonline.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/squirrel_girl_defeats_wolverine__by_howard_beale-d4hluur.png

Complete Powers Pass

Our hardworking design team did a complete review of every power in the game for function and tuning.
They adjusted many tuning tags to ensure no power was being left behind or was not being accounted for properly.
The net result is a substantial increase for melee powers and well as several other powers that were being overlooked. There should be very few powers that are now radically over or undertuned in each kit.
Test out the changes yourself in 24 hours in the test center training dummies and see how many more options you have for TTK on the boss training dummies or just slaying bad guys in Cosmic Terminals.

Ultimate Powers

A full tuning pass has been done on ultimates to ensure they are competitive with other when it comes time for the next level of challenge, including raids.
All ultimates now scale in duration constitently.
Most ultimates received a damage buff with this tuning. More tuning will be done in the next few weeks as raids start beta testing.
Thanks for @MichaelMayhem* and @PsiLocke* for their many late nights on this big power pass.

Big Ten Weekend

You voted for your favorite 10 in game events from the last 10 months, so we're bringing them back this weekend, all at once.
The ten events for this weekend are:

  • Easter basket & Easter Egg Hunt (We'll just keep this running through the next patch and Beast will remain)
  • Don't Fear the Reaper Event (live tuning scheduled buffs)
  • Christmas Gifts (Every Day on Login)
  • Buy-One, Get-One for Heroes
  • Fortune Favors You (free Fortune Card each day and special Fortune Card bundle in store)
  • Pot of Gold (with St. Patrick's Day loot items)
  • Valentine's Day (with Cupid's Arrows and other drops)
  • More Cowbell!
  • Chinese New Year (Fireworks Launcher and Daily Red Envelopes)
  • Australia Day (Aussie Flags, Koalas, Pyro mega-buff)
To top thinigs off, we'll also be boosting SIF, RIF and Exp along with Plays with the Devs

In Development

We are working on the following things, to be released in the coming weeks and months.

  • Mac alpha testing is underway. Closed beta will begin once we need more testers.
  • We're finishing up our matchmaking algorithm for PVP. This means any PVP matches that result in uneven teams will have compensatory buffs to try and even up the teams. This may also be used for "leavers" in PVP and X-Defense.
  • We're in the alpha testing stage for raid zones. They look beautiful and intimidating. They should launch alongside our completely 100% free game expansion in June.
(image en pièce jointe)

  • The animation team has completed work on Psylocke and she is working her way through to the VFX and SFX pipeline. She will likely launch in late May. It's hard not to love a psychic ninja with a cool outfit.
  • We're working on additional crafting quality of life improvements and crafting recipes.
  • More runeword recipes, including a Runeword themed week in the near future.
  • We've completed the tech to automate events like Odin's Bounty. This will open up some amazing things we can do. Imagine a world boss challenge every 30 minutes throughout the day, with a special unique item dropping from each one.
  • Trading back end is completed. Next step is to finish the front end of the system in May. Pretty excited for that.
  • Our alternate advancement inspired system is in development, with the back-end completed. Additional UI and design should have it launch in the second half of May.
  • We have some shared daily quests coming and a veteran reward feature rolling with the next big patch.
  • Achievement back-end work is 50% done. It looks like it will be ready in June.
  • The Wakandan Mine One-Shot Story chapter will be ready in less than 3 weeks!

The Legendary item exchange program is still in effect until we are done balancing everything (it's only fair)

Note that we did not choose to nerf Gungnir, but instead chose to spend the time carefully analyzing and buffing everything else

https://forums.marvelheroes.com/disc...omment_1089684

- @Shacpot said: @*Doomsaw They should launch alongside our completely 100% free game expansion in June.
This sentence confuses me. What do you mean with "game expansion". Something bigger than the Asgard raid?
- We are approaching this somewhat differently than we did the Asgard material, so it's really hard to compare these. The overall amount of content will be roughly comparable to the Asgard content, though structured differently.

- @grayvisions said: A very large group of gamers all perked up their ears when I read to them the patch notes about this 'expansion'. All eyes on you :P
- The content Doomsaw is referring to is different than the Wakandan content, I should note. But I'll let Doomsaw spill the beans on the details when he's ready. B-)
