Team-Up System Revamp: Part 1!
https://forums.marvelheroes.com/disc...-revamp-part-1 Overview As you may have heard, we have exciting renovations planned for the Team-Up System early this year, and they are fast approaching! Over the next few days, we’ll be talking about various changes to the system, leading up to a big announcement for Team-Ups and a nice, fancy dev blog covering this and more. And yes, that big announcement includes some pretty awesome Team-Ups coming in 2015. There are many things we are setting out to achieve with this Team-Up Revamp, and today we’ll be talking a bit about making a Team-Up who you want it to be. Teaming up is a classic tradition in Marvel Comics, dating back to Captain America with Bucky and even the Invaders during World War 2. But maybe your idea of how Magik should Team-Up with Colossus is a bit different than mine - maybe you envision her using her Soul Sword to quickly dispatch dozens of enemies and I think of her summoning demons to assist his brute strength as the best option. Maybe @MichaelMayhem wants a little bit of both! All of these should be options in Marvel Heroes - Marvel super heroes (and villains) have changed drastically over the decades and not all of us may agree how a particular character should act or fight. ![]() Customization To get there, we’ve expanded the power trees of Team-Ups as well as their customization options and created a whole new means of progression wherein a Team-Up hero earns experience alongside you. A Team-Up can now level up to 60, earning new powers as they progress, as well as Power Points. Power Points can be spent, just like a playable hero, allowing you to make your favorite Team-Up feel more like the hero you’d like them to be. For instance, Beta Ray Bill’s Lightning Barrage ability unlocks at level 15, where he summons lightning from the sky to blast nearby enemies. If you use him as a permanent ally, you may want to put points into this as a solid AOE to clear out weaker enemies, but it also acts as a requisite for another power: Lightning Support. When Beta Ray Bill unlocks Lightning Support at level 36, you can assign ranks to it, allowing him to enter the fight and cast Lightning Barrage while he is ‘away’, with each rank giving a bonus to the proc chance of the power. The damage of Lightning Support is affected by the ranks in its prerequisite, Lightning Barrage. Further down the power tree, at level 54, you can opt to place points into Scorched Earth, allowing both Lightning Support and Lightning Barrage to leave damaging lightning-scorched spots on the ground with each lightning strike! ![]() The end result is that a Team-Up’s progression and choices matter, but you are not locked into any build by how you choose to use your Team-Up (permanent ally, burst damage or away). Team-Ups receive fewer Power Points than players, but each power requires fewer points, accordingly. You should make your choices carefully, with many powers impacting others. In addition, every Team-Up now has a single dedicated Signature power, similar to a hero’s Ultimate Power. How you level those is a bit different, but we’re not ready to talk about that just yet. But what about? So the biggest question that is bound to come from these changes is: what about Team-Up survivability? You should stay tuned for that. ![]() A special thanks to @MichaelMayhem, @TheArtofRawr and the rest of the design team for not only working on this awesome revamp, but assisting me in writing detailed spoilers for everybody! |

Team-Up System Revamp: Part 2!
https://forums.marvelheroes.com/disc...-revamp-part-2 Overview True to our word, we’re back to talk more about the Team-Up Revamp! We received a lot of great questions from Wednesday’s post and we plan to answer as many of them as possible organically, as well as a nice informative FAQ on Sunday. For today, we’re going to talk about some new features that aren’t as complex as the first preview, but no less exciting. Controlling the Battlefield & Survivability In the battlefield, heroes constantly give each other orders and suggest maneuvers. Captain America tells Bucky to jump out of the way, and Spider-Man might tell Firestar to dodge Black Cat’s poison bomb before it goes off. To represent this, we’re going to let players have more control over their Team-Up’s movement. If Drax is being pummeled by AOEs (which he’ll take 50% damage from) or is standing in the way of a Rhino charge, a player can use a hotkey to direct him to their cursor, similar to Rocket Raccoon’s Groot summon. ![]() ![]() Since many players currently think of their favorite Team-Up as the one who’s passive benefits them most. That will still true if you choose to use them as ‘Away’ Team-Ups, same as it ever was - but you will also want to take a closer look at how you can modify their other Away powers. We want to be sure that every Team-Up was on an equal playing field with active powers too. As discussed in the previous preview, many Team-Ups feature brand new powers to put them on the same level of combat effectiveness as others, in addition to new effects gained by putting Power Points into ‘Passive’ powers. We fully expect that with each new playable hero, players will also be posting their active AND away Team-Up choices and builds to go along with them - especially with the new level of granularity and customization. In the new world, you may want to build a tankier Team-Up to keep your Storm from being squashed, or you may desire a ranged Team-Up like Spider-Woman to back up your melee Spider-Man (Spider-Verse!). One example of polishing an existing Team-Up design might be seen in Magik’s Limbo Demons. In the new system, Magik will gain access to a new passive ability which grants a gap-closing leap power to all of her demons, regardless of whether they are summoned by her directly or by the player through an ‘away’ passive. ![]() In addition to leveling Team-Up Heroes for new powers and customization, we also wanted to add a more meta-sense of progression as we have with playable heroes. Just like a playable hero, the Team-Up Synergy system encourages you to build a healthy roster of Team-Ups and use them, each of them conveying unique bonuses when leveled to 25 & 50. The goal is to establish a new level of customization for your own heroes and a new reason to gain experience, even at level 60. This new aspect of the system is a fairly large undertaking, but we hope to launch it alongside the rest of the Revamp features, if not shortly after. What’s Next? Though we’ve touched a lot of the major pillars of the redesign, we have yet to discuss a lot of the nitty gritty details or answer important questions. For the next preview, we’ll be answering as many questions as we can in an FAQ format. We may even answer questions you haven’t asked yet for completions sake. That’s to say nothing of some of our future plans for Team-Ups, but those are a bit too far away to talk about at this time. And remember, this is all leading up to the big announcement of Team-Up Advance Pack 2 next week. |

En complement des infos de la page précédente (59) sur le retrofit de Midtown, voici quelques nouvelles infos:
https://forums.marvelheroes.com/disc...omment_2147019 @TheCosmiccupcake confirmed the intention is that they drop their loot, but as a very rare chance (since they're much easier to access). Some mob groups removed, a couple of bosses pulled (bye, Tombstone), some new bosses (Sinister is indeed there, along with the X-Men clones; also Man-Ape, Black Cat, Mole Man). Malekith and Kurse got some backup. Doctor Doom is there as well giving an interview to some inquiring reporters, so you will - at last - be able to find out which Game of Thrones noble house Doom would see himself in if he lived in Westeros. Magneto decided to cut his hours a bit - he's been pushing retirement age for a while now, and his crunch time in Midtown has been nutty for months, and since he's management it's not like he gets overtime. He's still there, but a lot less common. Elektra and Bullseye brought in some backup of their own. The Hand decided to make another push for sewer domination. The Sinister Six will be making an appearance, as well. The civilian rescue has been rebuilt so you will need to interact on individual civilians, but the benefit is this will allow for a group of four civilians to, well, give you credit for saving four civilians. Not all of these discoveries are set up right - this is kind of a hacktastic experiment to make it work this way, so patience as we work out the issues would be appreciated. There are, to be sure, some rough edges remaining, but hopefully some time on test center will help us clear out the worst of these. More info coming tomorrow. Et une réponse de devs a certaines questions: @exxess said: Will the zone run like ICP now with event phases and random boss spawns? No; Midtown is still Midtown, albeit with some updates and new tech. We want ICP and Midtown to feel distinctive. To that, however, we do want both to be useful and fun places to play in, so iterations for both are likely. At least until work starts on the next patrol zone sometime later this year. @Evsi said: No. More. Venom. He's there, but just as part of the Sinister Six, as I recall. As for the Sinister Six, its membership has been pretty fluid over the years, and while in an ideal world I would probably have chosen a slightly different lineup, we work with the bosses we have at the time. Team-Up System Revamp: Part 3!
https://forums.marvelheroes.com/disc...-revamp-part-3 We'll be adding to this FAQ as we ramp up to the revamp! Feel free to answer questions in this thread and I'll try to get them added! If you don't see your question yet, it might be because that feature is still being finalized design-wise. Nothing here is set in stone - things may change based on either internal design discussions or feedback from the community! When is all of this awesome stuff coming?! Our number one goal with this Revamp is to make sure that we are absolutely happy with the huge amount of changes and new systems going in. This system is planned to ship in Q1 of 2015. We will keep you updated as to when you can expect to see it on TC. This is a big deal for us and we want to get it right. What happens if I use my level 60 team-up with my level 25 hero? Team-Ups are always summoned at your level in terms of how much damage they deal and take. Their power options and skill points are determined by their level, but their combat effectiveness will always remain equal to your own. What happens to my Team-Ups levels if I prestige? Team-Up levels are independent of Prestige. Does it require a Retcon Device to respec my Team-Up? Nope! Do I have to level up a Team-Up for each hero I use them with? No. Team-Up levels are independent and accumulate regardless of which Hero they are being used with. Will Team-Ups save their skill point choices across all heroes or on a per hero basis? Team-Ups will currently retain their current functionality of keeping their ‘spec’ the same regardless of who is currently using it. We are also investigating the other option. Will their passives change and potentially become less useful? I spent Gs on my Team-Up! Team-Up away passives that are currently located in the right column of the first tier will be retained exactly as they are now. Away ‘proc’ effects are being improved, and will allow for further customization of your Team-Up’s bonuses to you, even if you aren’t interested in calling them in directly. Are Team-Up Passives still only useable while the Team-Up is away? Certain players are very interested in only enjoying a solo experience, so we don’t want to have those players feel that they must summon a Team-Up to gain the optimal benefits. This is why the ‘away’ column exists, and we don’t want to take that away. However, with the new progression system, all sorts of new build paths and options will open up in regards to ‘away’ builds, so we will re-analyze these numbers and consider allowing the tier 1 ‘away passive’ to be on regardless of whether the Team-Up is active. No guarantees, but we’ll look into it! Will variant Team-Ups have different synergies? Variant Team-Ups, such as Holiday Groot, will still provide the same Synergy as their normal versions. If you own Holiday Groot, you will unlock Groot’s synergy. If you own both, you will not get two Groot synergies. Will I still be able to use my Team-Up as a “30 second duration” burst damage summon? Yes! The ‘Assist’ option is retaining for players who enjoy this style of Team-Up action. Team-Ups can be customized to make better use of this style under the new progression system. Are changes coming to Team-Up gear? Yes! Team-Ups will be getting Unique items, and the affixes currently available to their gear will be going under review. Where are the Team-Up Gear Boosts?! The Team-Up Gear Boosts will be granted with the release of the new Revamp. We withheld these boosts due to the fact that the Team-Up Gear will overall be improved. How many powers does a Team-Up have available in the new system? A choice of three ‘style’ options (similar to the current system), 9 powers to place points into, and 1 Signature power. Will Ryolnir’s beard ever be a Team-Up?! Confirmed 2016. ![]() |
