Q: What is used in determining if a shield style lands? I remember in a previous grab bag that shield has its own weapon skill. All tests I've seen show that landing a shield style seems to be determined by main hand weapon skill. Is this true?
A: That old grab bag is correct (shield styles use your shield skill level to determine
hitting odds and damage). I can’t say one way or the other about the test you’re referring to, since I don’t know what kind of shield, what style, etc. If you get me specifics I can have the guys look into it.
ou encore :
Q: Is Shield damage (when using a bash intended to damage, for example) dependent on a primary weapon skill?
A: When using a shield bash, it's your shield skill that determines damage.
et :
Q: When using a shield related combat style (Slam, Brutalize, etc), does the game use your current slash/thrust/crush weapon skill as its base (as shown on your character info screen) OR is there a 'hidden' Shield weapon skill not shown on your character info screen (based on STR? & Shield Spec) that it uses instead?
A: It uses your shield skill - which is based on both your specialization level and dexterity.
