Ce n'est pas dans mon habitude de pondre des trucs faits comme ça mais je ne suis pas actuellement en France et je n'ai donc pas le confort nécessaire pour bien travailler.
Je vous propose donc les notes (en anglais) que j'ai pris il y a à peine 45 minutes lors de l'interview avec les développeurs. Nous avons eu une heure pour l'interview, et nous étions 6 (!) sites différents dans ce même créneau, donc chacun son tour.
Fort heureusement, la plupart des questions restent pertinentes.
Si vous avez des questions quant à la rédaction de mes notes, n'hésitez pas à me citer et je tâcherai de clarifier l'idée.

JOL : Tenzen has been introduced years ago and while I understand that you wanted to create something fresh, I think most of the players expected to see Tenzen and his background. Why did you choose not to introduce Tenzen once again?
FFXI : We understand that players have been expecting Tenzen and that they want to hear more of the stories.
Sth new > for old players, and also new players so that they understand it as well because not a continuation
It's not a sequel yet has very strong bonds with original story

JOL : Shall I take that answer as a "Yes, we will learn more about Tenzen's story later" or have you put him away?
FFXI : There is a chance as long as Vana'diel still lives on.
ZAM : New buffs?debuffs? Bell > role/effect for Geo?
FFXI : new buff/debuff > still under dev so lots of balance testing
not ready to announce anything right now, first testing

Curse : Geo >> generally based on primal/earth based stuff, but FFXI Geo deviates from the original idea, where does your idea come from?
FFXI : Chinese concept of Feng Shui, placing objects in certain places, generates good fortune & stuff like that

FFXI : It's a long story *laughs*. Discovered in the actual story of the expansion.
Adoulin hasn't played a major part in XI so far, but Life in Vana'diel (official material) --> mentioned Adoulin in the West that has trade contacts w/ Sando
Why traveling only now? Wait for the answer in the expansion.
ff.de : FFXI for PS3 ?
FFXI : no plans for now. PS2 support continuing as well.
to develop a PS3 version = is that really the best use of $$ & HR?
not most feasible.
ff.de : No hard drive for PS2 in Europe so no players from Europe on PS2.
FFXI : difficult situation -- square enix not a hardware manufacturor -- cannot do much but do understand
MMORPG.com : Indigenous population in Adoulin. new race introduced or something?
FFXI : no new playable race. vana'diel's story has been introduced already, and introducing new race = throw off story. cannot change that.
new races like qiqirn/goblins (non playable) >> possible, you may see for yourself
JOL : "new players?" most players = playing for a long time --
why do you bother creating an expansion pack for new players while there are so few of them? or mb preparing something to have new players... such as psv (mentioned by Tanaka before PSVita release iirc)
FFXI : difficult to port on PSVita, but they did think about it. Not really a good idea so dropped.
JOL : so how do you plan to bring in new players?
FFXI : those who have stopped a few years ago.
if based too much on existing storyline, may feel like they can't keep up.
so new play experience.
not particularly looking to attract brand new users, players starting from scratch not able to fully enjoy Adoulin, but they still have things to do.
towards past high level players >> new world that awaits these players.
new players can still contribute though

P.S. : J'ai l'impression qu'ils m'ont bien bullshit sur la dernière réponse, j'hésitais à leur demander "mais les anciens joueurs haut level ont pour la plupart tous fini Chains of Promathia, pourquoi ne pas avoir continué l'histoire de Tenzen ?", mais bon, pas eu le temps dans tous les cas.
