Let's start with the constraints.
My intention was primarily to do a project that I like in 3D with 3ds max because I wanted to familiarize myself with the new technology such as 3D are the future
That's why I decide to make a scene with a alchemy's book because I am completely fascinated by alchemy, magic, medieval, fantasy.
I chose to work in 3ds max because it makes me work more easily allows modeling and texturing.
I decided to make a window to be able to make enter a ray of light on the book to highlight.

the symbol I did on the book comes from a book about Nicolas flamel because I wanted my stage speaks of the mystery of the Philosopher piere indirectly. As in alchemy is the most coveted secret. Who does not dream of possessing eternal life.
And the texture of the cover of the book, I decide to give a green dragon skin effect because dragons are more than symbolic animal of the middle ages, magic and alchemy.

I also chose to make a penholder in the art nouveau style because Art Nouveau is an art whose theme is the nature and alchemy as a science that relies on nature.
And the choice of the texture of the table and the window I took the oak because it is one of the most robust wood and deforms the less time that is gross
Now I'll tell you how I made this work.
I first spent a lot of time doing research because you need a really good documentation to work correctly
And after I started modeling.
I started with a box as a tray of the scene so that when I do the lights go in the window there is a subdued effect.
I then modeled the window, book, table, door feathers, grimoires, the candle burned.
Then I start applying textures on each object to give them their essence, their personality.
And I finally put a directional light outside the scene that comes through the window to showcase the book and then I put the particle in the lights to create the dust because when you think of an alchemist's lair we think has a secret place full of dusty old grimoire.
Then I did a rendering of the scene I put it in photoshop refine details of the scene such as contrast and color adjustment.
