Après 2 bonnes semaines de tests non officiels grâce au build disponible sur les forums de Community Istaria, le client du jeu compatible avec Windows Vista (mais aussi Windows Se7en) est passé officiellement sur le serveur de tests, Blight. Ce client passera sur les Live shards lorsque les développeurs seront sûr de la stabilité de ce client. Les tests déjà effectués sont déjà plus qu'encourageants, il n'y a donc plus qu'à attendre.


The moment that so many of you have been waiting for is here. Earlier today we released a new build of the game's client, version 383.2, that is a Vista compatible client for Istaria: Chronicles of the Gifted. This means for anyone playing on our Blight test server who also has a machine with Windows Vista, you should be able to play the game without having to jump through hoops, loops or other technical catches.

If you have not already done so, you should download the Launcher Upgrade (http://community.istaria.com/pg.php/download)
and have that installed in your game folder. This will create an icon on your desktop that will be your way of accessing the game in the future. Double click on this new icon, select a character on Blight (or create a new one), and the game will patch automatically to the new Vista compatible client. Please note that we're phasing out the use of the web site and the old launcher. To enter Istaria, please use Launcher.exe in your game folder - or the Play Istaria link (which runs launcher.exe) that is created on your desktop after running the Launcher Upgrade.

Note this client is not yet available for our live servers, Chaos and Order. We will roll it out to our live servers once testing on Blight is complete and we're comfortable with the stability and ease of use for this new client.


The Vista Compatible client (383.2) has been patched to Blight.

Additions:
- Runs on Vista and Windows 7!
- Added "TerrainRequestQueue" stat to lagwindow. This shows the number of outstanding terrain layer requests.

Fixes:
- 3D window now closes upon link death.
- Fixed a crash that sometimes happens when loading (such as after a teleport) takes too long.
- New character creation no longer leaves player_nnnnnnn pref directories.
- Removed code that could cause random crashes. (This one is actually a compiler bug.)
