"Several of you know that I am a "religious" person (I hate that word, speaking of words). One thing I like about the religious services I am a part of is that they always start with self examination and confession. Not to add to the guilt complex, but because we as humans always need self examination. In order to live justly in this world, we need to be honest about ourselves. Like I said, my biggest problem with the United States is our arrogance and unwillingness to examine ourselves. You would think that as the only nation which has dropped nuclear weapons on a civilian population, the nation which enslaved generations of Africans, the nation which put the Japanese in internment camps during WWII, and the nation which uses 46% of the worlds resources and has 4% of the population that we might consider examining ourselves. But self examination seems to be considered unpatriotic in this country. Someone once said "take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your neighbor's eye."
The interesting thing is that I don't think President Bush is evil. I think that he is involved in evil, some of his actions are evil. But he is a human being and is a mixed bag like anyone else. I think he is terribly misguided.I find that the left is just as willing to dehumanize the right as vice versa. What a world we live in."
Un autre post :
"I still can't quite believe we're actually going to war...but...what bothers me the most is that the war seems to have been a foregone conclusion this entire time. It's like the government's been waiting through the diplomatic part like an impatient child scarfing down Brussel sprouts in order to get to dessert faster.
And the quote on the news last night...I forget who said it (Colin Powell, I believe) but it was something like "This is a test that the Security Council has failed." Failed at what? At agreeing with the US?"
