Fallen Earth™ Game Version Notes
Version 1.7.1

October 25th, 2010

The Revenge of Alec Masters:

True to his word, Alec Masters has launched an attack against the Plateau town of Boneclaw. How far will the former dictator go to enact his revenge against the CHOTA?

New Reward Items:

Got a need for speed? Need somewhere to store your extra findings? By popular request, we’ve added a lineup of new reward items!

Don’t have quite enough room for all the stuff you want to lug around the wasteland? Get items with additional slot space, for use in either sector or barter vaults: Prestige Barter Safety Deposit Box (8 Slots), Prestige Barter Safety Deposit Box (16 Slots), Prestige Sector Safety Deposit Box (8 Slots), and Prestige Sector Deposit Box (16 Slots).
We’re also offering the Exclusive Sector and Barter vault expansions from the Fallen Earth Store as an option for reward points purchases in-game.

You can also have a look at some improved tool buffs and new injectors for a little short-term stat bump with the Weak Nitrous Booster or the Improved Geology, Nature and Scavenging tool buffs!

Last, but definitely not least, we’re pleased to introduce the LifeNet Collar Hacks— items for one-way teleports to the towns of Embry Crossroads, New Flagstaff, Los Alamos, Oilville and Trader’s Flat.

Faction Control Points:
Take control of flags in certain places throughout the Grand Canyon Province and gain access to faction-locked resource nodes and receive special buffs to combat skills and XP gain. Beware: the nodes are defended by guards that are hostile to everyone but their own faction - no allies here! To access these flags, you must be in a PvP zone or flagged for PvP.

We’ve added these Faction Control Points in the following areas:

· Devon Township (Sector 2 PvE zone)
· Windfarm (Sector 2 PvP zone)
· Haietta (Sector 3 PvP zone)
· Park City (Sector 3 PvP zone)
· Deadfall (Sector 3 PvE zones and Office Park PvP zone)

Also, when you capture a point in the same area as a conflict town, that node will periodically generate faction points for the conflict town. The more nearby control points that a faction claims, the more points you get.

Tutorial:

  • Changed the player's starting position.
  • Adjusted inventory so that players now get the LifeNet jacket in their pack insteadof automatically wearing it.
  • Added checks at the end of the tutorial to catch some players who are not teleported to the Town Chooser room.
  • Removed Boneclaw, Midway, and Clinton Farm temporarily from the Town Chooser.

NPC's

  • Fixed NPCs so that they should once again give non-core factions such as Townsperson when killed.
  • Adjusted the Digger Foremen in Odenville so that they should no longer stay invulnerable after returning to their home position.
  • Changed weapons on the Traveler Blockader veterans in the faction camp near Rothium Ridge. Gave them pistols instead of sawed-off shotguns to make them more challenging.

    Camps:

    • Fixed camps so that they now despawn after the correct time.

    Blood Sports:

    • Changed the method to cap player speed while holding the flag.
    • Fixed a bug that prevented players from attacking after entering or leaving a Blood Sports match.

    Conflict Towns:

    • Adjusted Conflict Town merchants so that they will have their correct inventory immediately when they respawn.

    Blackjack:

    • Changed clicking Hit or Stand while not seated so that it will no longer show the player receiving a fake duplicate of the last card.

    Bounty Hunter Missions:

    • Brought remaining bounty hunter missions throughout the first three sectors and Deadfall “up to code” to use static coordinates rather than randomized waypoints that sometimes located targets in inconvenient spots.

    Alec Masters Encounter Areas:

    • Added new repeatable mission steps in all of the crafting mission sequences that have lower values to eliminate reward exploit.

    Sector 1:

    Linewood

    • Fixed typo in mission “Fang and Claw 2.”

    Spider Hill

    • Renamed some spider generators so that only the spiders that count for the mission are named Worker Spiders. Other spiders are now Lurker Spiders and no longer count for the mission goal.

    Sector 2:

    Hollister Point
    • Fixed mission sequence “Up the Waterspout” so that the spiders spawn and the mission completes correctly.

    Pumphouse Road
    • Added treasure tables to Rats.

    Sector 3:

    Trader’s Flat
    • Reduced spawn radius and required time for mission “Claim of Acclaim.”

    Haietta
    • Fixed Human League NPCs outside Haietta so that they are now attackable.
    • Adjusted coordinates for escort target for Lightbearer mission “Remembering the Path.”

    Buxton
    • Activated LifeNet pod near town so players can respawn there, rather than being sent to the vicinity of Chemtown.

    Deadfall
    • Fixed LifeNet pod near Radberg so that it appropriately screens out under-level players, bouncing them back toward their appropriate sector.
    • Added Viral Strike, Armor Melting, and Feral Mind injectors to CHOTA trainer in Rothium Ridge.
    • Added Short Fuse, and Seal the Gap, Shock Blast manuals to Tech trainer in Rothium Ridge.
    Chemtown
    • Fixed waypoint on the mission “Higher Learning” so that it now points to the mission target.

    Papermill
    • Fixed the goals on the mission “Touch Base” so that the goal “Find Vista Tent” displays before “Destroy Tent.”

    Items:
    • Lowered the base cost of Advanced Paint And Dye Kits.
    • Changed Tough Hide Injectors so that they no longer refer to Hawkeye.
    • Fixed Combat Endurance books so that they can now be used while mounted.

    Combat Interface:

    • Added combat popup messages for stun and resists.
    • Fixed an issue with the hands not closing properly while holding a weapon when first entering the game.
    • Fixed an issue with reticle staying hidden when using scope/ironsight mode while going to/from prone or when getting knockback while prone.
    • Lowered the recoil when in scope mode based on zoom level
    • Toned down the camera shake effect when you get hit for large amounts of damage.

    UI:
    • Added overhead map tooltips for all merchants that don't have a specific NPC type to be displayed using the NPC name. This will fix the tooltips for all Death Toll and Reward Points merchants.
    • Fixed an issue with the windowed item tooltip not wrapping the item description correctly like the regular item tooltip.

    Effects:
    • Fixed Shotgun Wedding’s DOT component.
    • Corrected the description of requirements for Empower 8.

    Art:
    • Moved fences and added a rock to fill a gap in the Sector 2 Alec Masters encounter area.
    • Lowered several objects so that they no longer float.
    • Fixed elevator in tutorial so that it no longer traps players if they log out on the platform.
    • Remodeled grain nodes so that they fit into the environment better and are easier to click on.
    • Updated textures and models for Zanesville airfield communications buildings.
    • Remodeled and textured some clothing bolt-ons to improve performance and visual appearance.

    Miscellaneous:

    • Fixed a possible memory overflow bug from a malformed packet.
    • Fixed a bug that caused stuns to not report correctly to the front end.
    • Fixed a bug that could make a player fail to enter the game and see the “ticket pending” error message.
    • Optimized the server to decrease restart times.
    • Fixed “My Bids” page in Auction House to stop display of bogus data after a relog.
    • Fixed issue that caused “Cannot attack that target due to rez sickness” error to appear if two players are in a clan war group, but not currently at war.
