One of gaming's most undeniable truths is that pretty much everyone loves grappling hooks. Why that is so is probably hidden in the depths of our evolutionary tree (I'm sure prehistoric men and women used grappling hooks to evade predators). The upcoming Grapple Gum is all about grappling hooks combined with some very clever mechanics and lovely visuals. As you can see from the trailer below, you have to grapple onto moving balloons and missiles while also shooting at all kinds of targets, including big bosses. And when you fire, the balloons you're hooked on move in the opposite direction in a kind of action-reaction mechanic.

The game also has an upgrade system where you get a choice of 2 random upgrades at the end of each level, which should add to the game's replayability. And Grapple Gum's visuals and music are both lovely and really make the game stand out among the competition. The game will be premium and the developer is hoping to release before the end of July. You can find out more about the game and follow its development in our Upcoming Games forum thread.
