Brexit chaos in the Commons: what just happened? https://www.theguardian.com/politics...-just-happened __ Voici un résumé et le programme d'aujourd'hui. Last night, we saw dramatic scenes in the House. Theresa May issued her MPs with an ultimatum; back her deal, or face a long delay to Brexit. But her authority within her party is vanishing. Last night’s events were a total and humiliating shambles for the Conservative parliamentary party and the prime minister, as May was openly defied by ministers who abstained rather than follow the party whip. The result of last night’s votes, however, means the threat of a no-deal Brexit on 29 March has almost certainly been removed. As many commentators have pointed out, this is virtually unprecedented; normally, open defiance from cabinet ministers like we saw last night, would lead to them being strongly disciplined, and repeated losses in significant votes would see the PM step down. Today, the vote is about extending Article 50.
Motif: Auto-fusion |

Les amendements de ce soir...
1) Sarah Wollaston’s - calling for an extension to article 50 to allow for time for a referendum on Brexit. Je crois que c'est celui-ci : This amendment, signed by Plaid’s four MPs, calls for a delay to Brexit until 2021, and a second referendum at the end of this. 2) Hilary Benn’s - saying next Wednesday should be set aside for a debate that would start the process of allowing MPs to hold indicative votes on Brexit alternatives. There is also an amendment to this amendment, from Labour’s Lucy Powell, changing the timing. 3) Labour’s - saying article 50 should be extended to allow time for MPs to find a majority for a different approach to Brexit. (complètement inutile, du pur Corbyn) 4) Chris Bryant’s - saying Theresa May should not be allowed to put her deal to the Commons again. |
