Mortal Online Alpha
December 1st we arranged a test day for Mortal Online which went very well. The Alpha is about testing functionality and the various systems and features, although the interfaces as well as the “world” itself are very primitive to say the least. Some of the features our testers got to try out were the following:
Basic Character Creation of Half Orcs and Tindremenes
Melee Combat
Mounted Combat
Magic System (Battle Magic)
Basic Mining/Woodcutting
Basic Crafting of weapons and tools
Basic Taming of Mounts
Chat
Killing and Looting
Basic Etherworld/Resurrection
Completely seamless traversion of a roughly 64km2 large continent, although very far from finished
Adventures in the city Tindrem and the plains just outside Tindrem, including a temporarily placed Khurite village
A sneak-peak of the Tindrem sewer-system and dungeons
Things that were too unstable or “separated” to include:
Creature-AI
Shops
Housing
Some of the responses:
“I have never seen any mmorpg look this realistic, the world and details are very beautiful.”
“The game seems stable. We only experienced one death trap: jumping down in water to find out there was no water to swim in. We couldn’t get up again and managed to crash the server once”.
“The game controls are very hard to get used to at the moment, as there are so many different actions. Entering combat mode, mouse mode, spell casting, looting etc is a bit confusing to toggle between at the moment. “
“I can’t get enough of poking dead bodies; it’s really fun and scary at the same time.”
“It was hard finding each other in Tindrem as it is such a big city. “
”Is that you!? Good. Otherwise I would have killed you.” (Senior board member that had never played an MMO before)

Alpha Combat System Introduction
We’re constantly working on MO’s combat-system and it won’t appear on the main site for a while. In the mean time, we have decided to describe the combat system featured in our Alpha on our forums. Read more
