PS : "One of our biggest priorities is that whatever our designers can do, we want people who by the game to to it themselves as well"

So I'm just gonna continue to [kindda] go through the town here.
Oh I should got to be my main character again.
So this is just an example of the little villages in the game, and the new thing I'm gonna show is that actually one of the decisions we made when we started working on the game was, we knew that the game needed to be an entirely ... we wanted the light ... again as I was talking about like make the light entirely dynamique and give people who gonna make their own module, complete control over it.
So, while this won't be in the final game this is a sort of an example of how lighting works
We actually have a sun, and a sun I can move around and just whenever I want, [you know] I can put it wherever it goes. And actually, the sun is actually up in the sky. And so if I can actually find it, so it's kind of a pain in the ass [j'adore cette expression ] to find it so, I have to follow my shadow.
So as I play around there's actually the sun and the artist who want the ability to [kindda] increase the corona of the sun, so you can [kindda] get this [kindda] really washed out effect just form the sun.

So now like I was saying, everything in the game is dynamically lit so .../.. but to do that we need to actually have more just than just the sun, so we have a light that is actually lightning the sky, blue sky beaming down and the reflection of light coming from the bottom and so if I turn off [sort of] all of the lights as you can see, everything except for a few things is completely black now because everything was beeing lit from the streetlights. So this [kindda] show the range of stuff you can do [you know] I can go on and [kindda] turn the skylight back on and just make everything red, I can then take the ground light and make it blue so you can now [sortta] see what is lit by the skylight and what's lit from the ground light. An then I can come in and I can go to the sun, and I can make the sun this green, this crazy green light, and now you can [kindda] see how the different lights affect everything in the scene and ... on the top of that you could make crazy green, purple, yellow world and it could look like this. So and on the top of that there's also the ability to go in and play with the ... the clouds are all dynamique and you can [kindda] come in increase, decrease the cloud cover or increase it. And also you can [kindda] change how the color of the sky works ... and in the end there's even a bunch of other stuff but the real key to all this is giving sort of... is giving the ability for our artists and anyone that picks up the toolset to be able to [kindda] light levels and make them look you know however they really would want to ...

So the next thing I'm gonna show is just one of our interior areas and [sortta] how [kindda] all the difference [sort of] ( ) looks and kindda things we can get out of what our interiors look like.
So this is just [sort of] one of [kindda] standard to the runey [ruiny?] castle looking area and then we [kindda] go into .. if I don't close the door on myself ... I go into sort of .. we can have sort of very icy looking area ... there's actually a big battle in this area but I'm gonna get through that quickly ... I'll really stop doin' that ... so this just [sort of] begin to get this kindda differents feelings for how the different areas look within the same ... area.

And so this is ... what's this whole area is, is [sortta] how you can see is a temple of seasons and so what we've done is we've kindda create every little room it sort of give every kind of feeling of wether it's ice, fire or in this case [sort of] very green and life.
And if I open the book here, I gonna basically fire off a big battle ... and so this are basically huge stone golem ... or earth elementals sorry ... and it's just [sort of] [you know] sort of an exemple of one of a big fight ... and I'm the winner ... my character is invulnerable right now so I can sort of pretty much kill everything and they can't touch me.

But we worked really hard to [kindda] have a whole variety of not just ... not just [sort of like] little creatures and really worked out to have really giant, big creatures as well to really give you this feeling that you're in this fantasy... really, really in this fantasy world.

So this ... the area that I'm gonna be showing now is just one of the great graveyard areas.. because no Dnd or fantasy RPG would ever be complete without undead.
And one of the things we also tried to do is make spellcasting a little easier to do .. so we've actually create .. so I'm about to fire off a fireball .. and so we've actually made this so you can really choose and see where the fireball is going to affect. So I'm gonna just blast it on myself ... (if it goes off).
So we've [kindda] really - I guess in a lot of ways - really gone off with the spell effects ... so we can kindda create ... let's see that one ... Incendiary cloud ... so you really get the effect of casting giant spells, so it's not just like a little thing and a couple of graphics go off, it's huge effects, [you know] tons of particles [you know] and everything, and pretty much all of our spells are that way. And we particularly did it that way because in multiplayer we wanted to make sure the people knew, not just by name they could read down in a text bar, but they knew what kind of spell you are casting by the spell effect itself. So every little spell that we cast, I mean we have created an incredible number of unique spell effects so that people can get a sense of what's happening while they're playing with they're friends rather than having to tell each other exactly what's going on.

So thanks for listening and, so you know, NWN2 is gonna be out later this year [sic ]
