1.0 Overview

The Spiritmaster (SM) is a fairly well-rounded caster class. Darkness and Suppression mirror each other fairly well, and both lines perform well in RvR. Summoning has its place, though that place is mainly in PvE and somewhat as a supporting spec. Like all casters SMs have to suffer through extremely high resists, and many have turned to the high-damage PBAoE in Suppression because of this. The SM's pet is a rather defensive creature, which actually hurts Summoning in RvR somewhat as offensive abilities are more highly desired than defensive abilities.

2.0 Concerns

2.1 Ranged pet

The Spiritmaster is currently the only primary pet-caster that does not have access to a ranged pet. 1.61 gave the impression that the SM was never going to have one. This would not be such a bad thing, but the melee-only pet does not perform as well as the melee pets of other classes that do have ranged pets. If the SM is to only have a melee-pet, that melee-pet needs to perform better than its equivalents in other realms. Right now there is no "fair exchange" for the lack of a melee pet. The buffs in the Spirit Enhancement line, and the intrinsic procs of the pet do not give the Spirit an advantage over the buffs and procs of pets from other realms.

2.2 Stat debuffs and scaling

Stat debuffs do not take item buffs into account when they scale based on the amount of buffs on the target. The amount of buffage from spells is taken into account, but not the amount of buffs from items. Debuffs cannot do their "job" of removing the buffs of a target, as they cannot remove all three types of buffs; item, baseline and specline.

2.3 Pet procs

The damage of the lifetap and cold-DD pet procs is somewhat low. The damage of the two is rather similar which is odd in itself, as the lifetap should be lower (but with an associated life drain). It is thought that these procs are actually spells of the same level as the pet they first appear on (lvl12 cold-DD and lvl20 lifetap). This results in the damage being somewhat low, and to a high resist rate.

3.0 Specline Issues

3.1 Darkness

One of the primary issues for the Darkness SM is the two AE mezzes (ranged and PB) fall into the "secondary" mez category and therefore have rather short durations. RAs and spell resists further decrease them. The PB mez works as an escape tool, but the ranged mez never really lasts very long.
The Darkness line serves as the SM's ranged damage line, but only has a single target damage spell. It would be helpful to the realm in general if SMs had some form of ranged AE damage spell. To keep with the "theme" of the line it could be a lifetap of sorts. It has been suggested that the %-drain be tweaked down, and return health to the entire party and not just the SM.

3.2 Suppression

The Suppression SM is fairly complete, but has one major issue. The final PB AoE spell comes at lvl49. By taking that spell, the Supp-SM is unable to get the resurrection spell at lvl23 in Spirit Enhancement. This means that one of the SM' most popular templates can not serve as Midgard' third rezzer. Solutions to this would be: lower the level of the rez, lower the level of the last PB or make the rez baseline in Summoning.

3.3 Summoning

The primary issue facing the Summoning spec' SM is inability to perform in RvR. The focus-DS gives the Summon-SM a role in PvE, but that spell has no use in RvR (or its use is extremely limited, if used at all). The Summon-SM has only a high-variance baseline DD and a melee-only pet. That melee-only pet is easily beaten by pets from other realms (pets from casters that have a more diverse selection of pets to use). A ranged pet of some sort, proc damage increases (cold-DD and lifetap procs) and alterations to the buffs would be ways to increase the effectiveness of the SM pet.
Specline pets with additional abilities (I.E. bows, nukes, styles, enhanced melee) would help Summon-spec as well. Specline pets would not have the Intercept ability of the baseline pet, and would be more offensive-orientated pets.

4.0 New Issues

4.1 Mez reduction buff (Tenacious Warrior Spirit)

This buff was added in 1.61 and was accompanied by the statement that it was given in lieu of a ranged pet. This buff does not compensate for the lack of a ranged pet. It only covers mez, and not the other forms of CC (root, stun). It also does not cover the other way of dealing with a pet, nuke damage. The pet has next to no spell resistance. This buff might better be served by being an "ll magic resist"buff, to cover all forms of CC, and give protection from nuke damage. Would also be helpful if there were more than two levels of the spell.

4.2 60 second Damage Shield (Gift of the Fallen)

In 1.61 the self-only DS was changed to a realm-mate castable 60 second DS with a 700 range. That only makes it marginally more useful. The range is very limiting and should be increased at the very least. The duration is also very short, but might be ok considering the DPS of the spell. It would be much more useful if it were instant though (with a reuse time, like the debuffs).

4.3 Unique RAs

The two SM-unique RAs (Whip of Encouragement and Excited Frenzy) were finally fixed in 1.61. While this is a good thing, neither is worth the 6pt cost of purchase. Whip is basically unnecessary if the SM is grouped with a speed class. Frenzy' effect is negligible, especially in light of the pet-haste buff that was also added in 1.61. Midgard lacks group-useful RAs. No one would miss these two if they were scrapped, in favor of something that benefits the entire group. Alb and Hib have useful group-defense RAs, so it would be useful if Mid had a group-offensive RA to "counter" those defensive RAs.

5.0 Other Issues

5.1 Attack speed debuff interrupts spell casting and archery.
5.2 Stat debuffs can be resisted, but still crit
5.3 Attack speed debuff does not crit
5.4 Pet stun proc lacks a graphic on target
5.5 Dwarf, norse, troll and kobold pets, why no Valkyn?
5.6 Focus damage shield is dropping when target dies
5.7 Would be useful to see pet damage (taken/received)
5.8 Would be nice if the pet had a shield

6.0 Item Problems

6.1 +Power

The +power increase from items is considered largely useless, uses the same Max formula as resists so caps at +26. That's not enough to cast even one extra spell for the most part.

si jamais un AE tenebre drain de la vie pour le groupe sort, je respec direct mon HEl en tenebre et je la joue plus souvent !

Mais bon, nous savons où vont les TL Reports...

Na l'idée est plus subtile : AE drain de vie qui donne des pv a TOUT le groupe.

J'aime bien la derniere solution j'aurais pas a respec comme ca
Une des choses qu'ils pourraient demander pour la ligne affaibl serait de faire passer les dégats ds un autre type de magie parce qu'entre les 16% de buff de la majorité de clerc et les 24% de ttes les sentis, on doit finalement avoir le pbaoe le plus résisté des 3 royaumes.

Tu veux rigoler encore plus ? (jaune bien sur)
va voir les tables de résistances raciales et note le nombre de races avec 5% de resist en esprit
Avant SI, c'est simplement 50% des races ennemis qui avait ce bonus de 5%... Apres SI, bha touours 50% des races ennemis.
Et il est a noter que ce ne sont pas les races les moins jouer : Breton Avalonien, Celte Elfes...

Mais dans le Back Ground, un dégat en esprit pour un sort qui s'apelle Destruction de l'Ame, je trouve cela normal.
Moi je trouverais ca normal que le SM ait le rez en ligne de base.
Pourquoi ?
La sentinelle, le barde, et le druide l' ont en ligne de base.
Le clerc, le moine l' ont en ligne de base. Et le paladin ... un paladin avec moins de 30 en cantique, ca existe ?

Oui au moins la dessus on est d'accord.
C'est sur que niveau back ground esprit est normal.
Mais il faudrait faire qque chose parce que c'est parfois à déprimer de voir vous toucher machin pour 220 (-350) avec un pbaoe.

Et sinon, oui le rezz en base ne serait pas mal mais bon, c'est qd mm rare que ce soit le hell qui rezz ou alors, le groupe est vraiment mais vraiment mal.
Moi, je serais pour l'ajout de qque chose en affaibl vu que le perso manque a mon avis de fun.
Pas de DDs valable, un mezz simple qui est svt résisté a moins d'avoir mis 50 (ou d'une durée de 2 sec vu qu'une fois de plus, il est en esprit) en affaibl et un débuff de zone cons/force qui ne se lance qu'une fois.
