Gargoyles/cait Sith/St'rm/Golems
Thatha/Hamadryad/Luchorpans/Bean Sidhe/Fir Bog.

I agree that friendly fire would add more to the game but friendly fire is one of the easiest things for griefers to do to spoil the game for others. As such, there are no plans for that in the game at the present time except if we have Free-for-all servers.

Waw, i'm impressed.

Why would a CEO from a Kickstarter game waste his time to talk with guys in this strange far away land called France ?

Thanks for being here Mark !
I hope it will make some more sceptical folks here change their minds and thoughts about CU.

Thank you! As to why, well, it was simple, I was asked about posting here so I'm here for now at least.

As to changing peoples' minds, that's up to them. I'm actually not looking to change minds but rather, to give people an opportunity to ask some questions, chat, etc. As you and some others may know, I made a pledge to our European Backers not to treat them like second-class citizens with our game. We're not on a financial position to afford to do everything I would like to do but things like this, having helpful translators should, I hope, show that we do care about folks outside of North America. And I've said elsewhere, one of the big ways I've proven this is that I'm not licensing (I've never even asked/allowed a conversation with outside folks) CU to anybody in Europe. We will handle it all ourselves, by ourselves, and for all of our Backers in North/South America and Europe.

Hi Mark,
I'm greatly surprised and impressed to see you here. I'm Kickstarter backer but I took many distance since the old BSC days were you showed some (important) things that didn't pleased me, but I made the choice to give it a try, who knows maybe I'll like it.

I'll just ask one question, it may look stupid but Races, their looks and their "Philosophy" is one of the most important things to me. And I dislike playing Human races (my Avatar is a hint ). So may we hope some changes with CU's races? I mean TDD and Arthurians have some choice in non-humanish races (respectively 5 and 4) while Vikings which is culture I love most have... 1 (the giant is just a fat human and the valkyrie was a great idea, but unfinished)

More races are coming for all the Realms. As I've told our Backers, we're not making any push on new races until we get into Beta 1. Nothing is more important than that.

LOL, I don't mind posting here every so often. I generally work about 10-12 hours a day during the week, so I have the time to drop by here, Massively, MMORPG, etc.

Thanks again folks!

Hello Mr Jacob

Hello Mark,

As many of the french folks here i've been a player of Dark Age of Camelot and Warhammer Online and you are also responsible for my lack of attendance at the university because i played too much time on DAOC

You probably don't remember me because i never been talkative on the CSE forums but i've been one of the backers on Kickstarter since the beginning and i asked you a refund some months ago and i never explained you why.

I had great memories about the games you made and so i had great expectations about Camelot Unchained and i'm sorry to tell you that after many years i lost faith in you and in the game and i've been disappointed with the game developpement delay and choices about game design.

I think you wasted a lot of time and effort about many things who are useless for a RvR game.

The whole idea of CUBE took too much time for nothing if people want a game to build things they can play Ark/Rust/Conan or anything else similar. People want RvR not another building game.

The damage localisation who seems to be a good idea on paper is another waste of time and coding developpement, it will overload the server and bandwidth with hundreds or thousand players but also it will be a pain in the ass for healers. Like said Agedam we don't want the job healer to be boring and to be a job of fill and refill segment like a healing bot. It's too much complicated and not fun at all with so many things to do and take care.

The consequence is also a very bad user interface with so many thing. We don't need so much blue yellow red bars. People don't need thousand of this just one for health, stamina and mana that's all keep the things easy and simple. It would be better for the players and specially for the healers because now the user interface looks like a mess it's too big and heavy and complicated and ugly and so old.

All that stuff but also things the team worked on for many months or years for nothing and finally decided to rework from scratch made me want to leave the project. So much time and effort wasted. I hope one day Camelot Unchained will be released and maybe i will come back in the hype train and be a future player if i like how it will become but for now i disagree with many things and the honeymoon time from the beginning has past and i decided to move on.

That's why i decided to do not support the game longer because it doesn't meet anymore my expectations. I barely come here now but from time to time i check the news to see what's going on and saw your presence here and it's nice for others backers and players to see you finally care about them but i hope it's not because frenchs backers asked a refund and that is a sincere motivation from you.

I truely wish you the best for the game and hope it will be a success because backers, players and fans deserve it and because what you have done before for the good (but we don't forget the bad) and maybe people and dreamers like me will never get a DAOC 2 but they could have fun on Camelot Unchained if things doesn't screw up.

Last thing, did you know about the blog of Scott Jennings who talked many years ago about the launch of DAOC from the inside with a lot of very interesting dev story from your recollections before it became what we know ? It's for me one of the most interesting game developpement story ever and full of anecdotes

Fully agree with this. Lots of things are good idea to have a fresh new wind on MMORPG, but does-it work? I always play healer in many games I played over the yead, and that's not fun to wound a feet, hand, etc... In the stress of an action PvP, all must be clear and quickly understanding. 10 life bar, its too much.

Sorry for my English, and thanks Mark Jacobs (my god, I spend so much time on DAOC, Merlin server, first, Mordred and YS server...) to come here.

Sleepy Fitzcairn, Husceal, maybe these games arent for you

Most of gamers now dont want a game where you have nothing to do, just press on a bouton and kill people

After some time its just boring

Daoc was one of the first game and (my first online game too ) but this time is over, i left daoc just because days after days nothing change...

We need an interactive and changing universe, we need to craft what we need, we need to choose our abilities, and how we decide to kill people, just because its fun, we need to visit a place and see that things has changed

i think you dont realize how much its important
Look around you all the online game propose such things now
